Description: Product Manager – Renewable Energy Products
National Semiconductor is entering the photovoltaic market with new technology designed to increase the effectiveness of solar panels under variable light conditions. National's SolarMagic™ technology recoups up to 50 percent of the lost energy, dramatically improving the economics in shaded and other real-world conditions. The SolarMagic technology maximizes the energy output of each solar panel, compensating for much of the energy lost due to shadows from tree branches or power lines, dust and debris, and panel-to-panel mismatch.
In this product marketing role you will be responsible for the consumer product management of a strategic family of renewable energy solutions at National Semiconductor. Responsible for product definition, evolution and roadmaps. Manage all aspects of an integrated marketing plan, including customer support, sales support, online/offline advertising content, promotions, and events.
Specific responsibilities will include:
• Manage product marketing for alternative energy solutions throughout the entire product life-cycle including strategic and tactical activities such as product definition, pricing, promotion, and key customer support.
• Develop and execute product roadmaps, marketing strategies, customer presentations, business plans, sales/FAE training, and product launch plans.
• Identifying and recommending new product development opportunities based on customer needs, market trends, competitive positioning, and financial analysis.
• Ensure consistent application of positioning and messaging strategy across all components of the marketing mix
• Manage all sales support activities, including case study write-ups, solution sheets, and customer presentations
• Design and execute new marketing programs to help generate sales
• Coordinate all global launch activities with new Renewable Energy products
• Manage all online/offline advertising content and press release content
• Develop competitive analyses and positioning strategies
• Partner with Marketing Communications to manage events
• Manage all website content and forum activities
Preferred skills and background:
• Experience in marketing feature rich, value priced consumer products (e.g. smart phones, HVAC equipment, computers, etc.)
• Solar photovoltaic experience a plus
• 8+ years experience in marketing roles across multiple marketing disciplines; global marketing experience a plus
• Four year college degree required; MBA preferred
• Demonstrated track record of executing marketing programs that delivered measurable business results
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), with demonstrated experience in working in team environments
• Project management skills and strong attention to detail
• Experience in agency and vendor management
